This short tutorial provides a quick demonstration with "step-by-step" instructions that show you how to use the hIOmon Excel Template worksheet and macros to import into the worksheet a hIOmon Manager Export File containing "fragmented file I/O operation performance metrics" that have been collected/exported for a specific file, and then build an Excel Pivot Table/Chart based upon a particular set of hIOmon metrics contained within the worksheet.

Building an Excel Pivot Table/Chart for Specific-FILE Fragmented I/O Metrics

The hIOmon I/O Performance Monitor software package includes a "hIOmon Excel Template" along with several hIOmon "Excel Macros".

The Excel template can be used to directly import the hIOmon "summary" file (and device) I/O operation performance metrics from the "hIOmon Manager Export File" that was created/activated through the use of the "hIOmon Automated Monitoring Configuration Setup Script". 

The hIOmon Excel macros provide a variety of functions, including adding to the worksheet specific metrics that require calculations based upon other hIOmon metric values already present within the worksheet. A hIOmon Excel macro is also provided that can be used to generate Excel Pivot Table/Charts based upon the summary I/O operation performance metrics that have been loaded into the Excel worksheet.
